In Love With C.A. Cupid…

The Monster High C.A. Cupid doll is easily the prettiest stock doll I’ve ever bought! Check her out in all her lovely, slightly creepy, glory…

C.A. Cupid

Her stock is incredible… the outfit is beautiful, the shoes and accessories are well themed, and the wings?

C.A. Cupid's Wings

My GOTH the wings. They actually attach to her as a necklace (shaped like a curved arrow!) which I think is a pretty clever idea. They’re creepy and gory without being out of place, but they still manage to take the edge off all her pink sugariness.

C.A. Cupid - Quiver Ring C.A. Cupid - Portrait

The tiny little Quiver Ring is adorable, and the lace painting on her hands and legs is just beautiful. For some reason I haven’t got a closeup of her shoes, but they’re beyond cute. One heel is a bow, the other an arrow… and it’s the same story for her earrings too. Little details like this make me happy.

C.A. Cupid - Close Up

Her hair is nicely styled, but absolutely rock hard with glue (or whatever it is that Mattel use to set the styles). I trimmed a few rogue bits off it with some really sharp nail scissors, but other than that it’s lovely. She doesn’t come with a brush, but does come with a pink stand.

I love her makeup, even if it is a little harsh on the lips. I’ve seen a couple of Cupid dolls on Flickr with a little bit of lip blushing added afterwards, and this does seem to soften it a lot. I’ve not decided if I’ll go ahead with it on mine though. For now, the teeny tiny hearts in her pupils are keeping me distracted and happy!

Verdict? Totally smitten. Super happy that I’ve been able to get hold of this lady. Oh, and a quick heads up for anyone in the UK looking for C. A. Cupid – the eBay auction for one of my spare Cupids is still running. Check it out here.

52 Weeks Challenge – Monster High Overload

Fantastic Four - 03/52: Monster Mosaic

This week has been all about Monster High! I got hold of two new fashion packs from our local Asda, and my C.A. Cupid(s) arrived! And to top it all off, Dan bought me Skull Shores Ghoulia tonight!

This week was also about tonsillitis, but that’s just miserable. I’m feeling a lot better today, and hoping to be back at work on Monday. I don’t deal well with being ill! :faint:

Monster High – C.A. Cupid

The Monster High addiction hobby continues to grow… today we welcomed Sweet 1600 C.A. Cupid into the family. I still don’t know if Mattel are planning on bringing this lady to UK shores any time soon, so I bit the bullet and bought online. I am so glad I did!

C.A. Cupid

Utterly perfect. I can’t wait to be less full of tonsillitis and take lovely pictures of her. She’s really, really pretty!

As luck would have it, I ended up with a couple of spare Cupid dolls (I was not willing to be let down by a supplier, so ordered three to cover my back… yeah, I’m that obsessed with those ribcage wings).

Guess who?

I’ve listed one on eBay UK at a reasonable starting price to give folks this side of the pond a chance at owning her, without the worry of import fees or the horrendous price of a certain other eBay listings for Cupid  The cheek of some people is unbelievable! I haven’t decided what to do with Cupid #3 yet, she may get listed, she may stay trapped in her box… time will tell!

Check out her auction here. Good luck if you decide to bid on the gorgeous ghoul!

52 Weeks Challenge Week 2 – Caprica

My current favourite Blythe lady is the subject of mosaic 2 of 52, my very own skinjob, Caprica…

Fantastic Four - 02/52: Caprica

Glorious little thing. She’s currently sitting on my desk, making the world a better place. My very favourite shot from this set is below… super pleased with it, considering it was taken indoors in poor light this evening.

I Spy...

Hmm… she gives me new layout ideas… :nerd: I have a bucketload of stuff to do first though, including some work for the BlytheCon UK 2012 site.

Hope 2012 is treating you all well!

From One Challenge To Another…

A Doll A Day 2011

In 2011 I took on the A Doll A Day challenge – a photo a day featuring a doll or toy. It was a fun project, and it was great for helping me get back on the doll hobby. Towards the end of the year it was a bit of a struggle, especially when I was busy with work or home stuff. I feel like I cheated quite a bit, uploading late or choosing old (but never published) images for a big chunk of the project. :weird:

Cheating aside… it’s pretty cool to see it all in one place, isn’t it?

A Doll A Day 2011

For 2012 I’m going to attempt the Fantastic Four – 52 Weeks of Dolly Fun challenge. Four shots, in a mosaic, boom. Have some Monster High mosaic joy. :hero:

Fantastic Four - 01/52: Frankie Stein

Hopefully this project will be a little more forgiving than A Doll A Day, as I can use 4 shots from the same shoot in my mosaic, or take 4 totally different shots if I’ve got heaps of time to play dollies in a week.

You can keep up with my mosaics on the 52 Weeks Challenge page, which will update automatically each time I post a new mosaic. Wish me luck!
