I’ll be honest with you, I’m not really one for “summer holidays”. Far too many kids off school, far too much heat and light for my gothypants complexion. I’d much rather hide away in front of my laptop and go away somewhere cooler another time. In spite of my feelings about summer, I did take a week off work at the start of August (I know! Where the heck is this year disappearing to?!) to stay with my sister in London and do some touristy stuff for my mum’s 50th birthday. In spite of all the rioting that was going off at the time, I had a pretty good few days. We went to see the Wizard of Oz musical, visted Madame Tussauds, went on a Jack the Ripper history tour, and had a wander around Camden.
I got back to Leeds on the Wednesday, and spent the rest of the week relaxing at home with Dan. We did venture out to Tropical World in Roundhay Park – there are meerkats! And butterflies, and bats, and all sorts of exciting things.
Erm… in less exciting news, I finally switched my hosting and domain away from Comfort Host. The move went easier than I expected and I haven’t found anything broken or weird yet. Result.A Doll A Day 2011 is getting very hard to keep up with – I was 12 days behind until this afternoon, and just seem to have lost my mojo. I’m busy most evenings after work now, and have also (worryingly) discovered a love of Minecraft. Far too much stuff to be getting on with! :faint:
