I’m old! Well, kind of. What counts as mid twenties? Am I a grown up yet? Who even cares? What I do know is that I was spoiled by my nearest and dearest, ate too much delicious food, and spent the entire weekend working towards my pony bow on Guild Wars 2. Just so this is less boring, here I am pulling ridiculous faces about my Hello Kitty kitchenware gifts from my glorious little sister.
Now, onto my monthly recurring birthday present from Dan, the March 2014 Birchbox. A collaboration with Lulu Guinness, this gorgeous little package dropped into my hands just yesterday! Here’s what’s inside…
Benefit Stay Don’t Stray – An eye primer from Benefit. I usually use Urban Decay’s Primer Potion (and have done for a really long time) so I’m excited to see how this one holds up against it. Apparently it’s a little different, and can be used under concealer?
Dr. Brandt Pores No More – Claims to minimise pores and absorb excess oil. I do tend to get a shiny face mid-afternoon and am never without a powder compact. Fingers crossed this one is some kind of miracle worker…
Aroma Works Nurture Body Oil – Smells lush! I loved the Beatitude sample from last month’s box, and have almost run out of it. Thanks Birchbox!
English Laundry No. 7 For Her – A perfume sample, and not a very exciting one! I put a bit on my wrists this morning and it’s sickeningly sweet, not what I would usually go for at all. It’s not terrible, but it’s not great either.
Cellu-Cup – Bit of a weird one. I know I’m 26 now, but cellulite isn’t a concern for me? That is to say, I don’t have any. Wondering if it can be used for cupping more generally, not specifically for targeting cellulite?
This month’s little treat was a stripy Lulu Guinness stick of rock – cute! I’ll be honest, I am actually a bit in love with some of the super bright and humbug-esque stuff in the spring/summer 2014 collection, but even with the £20 off code that came with this month’s box I cannot EVER imagine spending that kind of money on a handbag! Well, maybe not now anyway. Shoes I don’t seem to have that issue with? It’s weird how we prioritise stuff isn’t it?
I’m still dead impressed with Birchbox. If you’re thinking about signing up, you can use this link and we’ll both get £5 worth of points to spend in their shop. Spread the love and so on!
