I never thought I’d see the day where Dan and I simply exchanged matching iPad Airs and Apple Pencils at Christmas, but 2020 was a weird one, hahaha ^_____^;;
Turns out I’m in love with Procreate, having not drawn anything in literally years. Decades really I suppose. I had to drop art/design type subjects at GCSE in favour of a business studies option.
(The closest thing to IT I was permitted to do… don’t fucking ask… or do… I have an entire PhD thesis that explores some of this at great length…)
Sooooooo yeah. It’s been a minute. And that’s a shame.
I’m trying to make time every day to sit down and draw something, and so far it’s going well. The Making Art Everyday drawing challenge from Bardot Brush is great! I bought a few of her brush packs for Procreate and have been loving playing around with them.
So happy with this Fab lolly I drew yesterday… not perfect, but that’s not the point.
Woah. Personal growth? o____O;;
I love that you can make animations in Procreate too… it’s been a while since I made blinking pixel dollz or teeny tiny blinkiez. I just HAD to animate this little slice of cake.
The prompts for January are all food themed, giving a lot of scope to try out different styles and interpret things quite broadly…
… that said, I’m obsessed with this stupid little face. OBSESSED. It’s on damn near everything I’m doing at the minute…
Love that strawberry. LOVE HIM. HIS STUPID LITTLE FACE THOUGH!!!
Some pieces escaped the face.
So yeah… I’m really impressed with Procreate. I’m really impressed with the add ons from Bardot Brush, and I’m excited to keep trying new things. I’m also hopeful that by the end of the year, I’ll feel comfortable enough to write my name on things more consistently.
Feels a bit weird and cringe at the minute ahaaaaaa….
