Ayanami Rei x Blythe – White Light

The weather outside is frightful… the apocalyptic snow we were promised all last week has finally arrived. Dan’s working from home, I’m half working, a quarter ill, and another quarter using the time to properly introduce the latest member of my Blythe family, the Ayanami Rei x Blythe – White Light collaboration doll.

This gorgeous girl is the Ayanami Rei x Blythe – White Light collaboration doll, and she was a Christmas gift from Dan. I remember the announcements for this doll, and more achingly I remember the sinking feeling I got when I found out she was a lottery doll. I gave up all hope of ever owning her, knowing that her price post-release on eBay and forums would probably be ridiculous (Doronjo x Blythe, I’m looking at you!) Luckily a friend of mine had entered the lottery herself, and so had her mother – bit of an insurance policy, you know how it is. Typically, both came up, so Dan bought the second Rei Ayanami. It was meant to be. :love:

Her plug suit and interface headset are awesome – even if the suit does leave her vulnerable to some rather cringe-worthy camel toe… 😳 My only real gripe is that the shoes don’t fit if she’s wearing the plug suit, because the material’s too thick. Not a major issue, and certainly not enough to make me love her any less.

Here you can see her special two-colour lip paint, and her subtle makeup. Her eyelashes are gorgeous, and her lids are a lovely soft beige.

God’s in his Heaven, all’s right with the world… There’s even a special pull ring charm for this girl. One side for Blythe, the other for NERV. Total, utter, geek-gasm.

I literally love everything about this Blythe. Her hair is gorgeous, her outfit is perfect, and all the special little details make me melt (eyelashes, pullcharm, special makeup…) I feel incredibly lucky to have this girl. Unlike most of my Blythe dolls, Rei will be staying stock for the foreseeable future. To me, this Blythe is Rei Ayanami. :heart:
