It’s highly unlikely that Dan’s little sister Olivia will be reading this, so I think I’m fairly safe to share what I’ve just finished making for one of her Christmas gifts…
There are 14 granny squares in total, joined with a method I found at Carina’s Craft Blog – this gave the scarf the extra length it needed. To finish it off I added an extra ‘granny’ row around the edge, but in a chunkier yarn with a bigger hook. This morning I added the fringe to the ends, and boosh! One granny square scarf that I don’t really want to give away. 😳
I also finished my third Phannie hat this year – this one is a Christmas gift for my Nan.
I have one exactly the same – when my Nan saw it she told me she wanted an identical one for Christmas. I can’t let her down now, can I? My sister also has one, but hers is in a pale blue Debbie Bliss cotton. It’s such a quick and easy pattern, and it looks so cute when it’s on… all slouchy and soft and warm.
I’ve finished work for two weeks now, except for an afternoon shift this Wednesday. In typical sod’s law style, Dan started his new job today – gahhhh. It means I can get on with stuff at home, but it would have been nice to spend some time with him before all the festive family weekend time.
