Factory Blythe – Astrid

July 1, 2012 4 Comments

Yay! Name has been settled on...

My dark blue haired factory Blythe doll finally has a name! Thanks to the lovely Beth (who has some gorgeous dolls, check out her Flickr!) this little beauty shall be known as Astrid. Apparently she landed on Astrid like so:

“My brain worked like this – blue hair > cosmic blue> cosmic > space > asteroid > ASTRID.”

Astrid

Cute, no? I think it really suits her! Astrid will be getting some light custom work soon. Nothing major really, definitely new eyechips as I’m unsure about her forward facing pink and green/blue chips. I’ll want to redo her makeup, keeping the same kind of gentle feel she already has.

She’s such a pretty doll! I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again – I can see why people are buying factory Blythes, even choosing them over official releases. For now I’m content with the pair I bought, but I definitely see more in my future… :crush:

Jess, she is beautiful! Are you going to customize her yourself or have someone else do it for you? I love how you arrived at her name too…very clever!

I’ll customise her myself, yes. I’ve never had anyone else work on my girls – I think I’d miss them too much to send them away! That, and I find that customising is one of the most fun and rewarding parts of this hobby.
