Factory Blythes – Arrival

Factory Blythe Dolls

They’re here! They’re here! Parcel Farce have finally brought my Taobao Factory Blythes home to me, and I love them! For now, I’ll refer to them as Miss Light Blue Hair and Miss Dark Blue Hair…

Factory Blythes

First off, they are both factory girls, not fakes. Miss Light Blue Hair is an interesting character, with red nail polish on just one of her hands! She also has a couple of tiny scuffs to her blush, and her torso was splitting at the side when I unwrapped her. A quick squeeze seems to have sorted it out for now.ย Miss Dark Blue Hair is my favourite of the two, simply because her hair colour is absolutely stunning in real life. It’s so vibrant when daylight hits it! She’s the perfect substitute for Alexis Emerald or an EBL Asian Butterfly… though I wouldn’t say no, if these dollies ever turned up at my door! ๐Ÿ˜›

Both girls have B2Holic eye mechanisms with lilac lids, and slightly mismatchy body parts. Their legs were super super sticky, but a quick dusting of ancient Lush Candy Fluff dust sorted that out, like it has for all my girls. The added bonus there is that they end up smelling like sweets! On the downside, their legs are super bendy and jelly like, which is a little bit weird. In fact, Miss Light Blue Hair likes to tip over if you hold her by her legs! Their hair feels pretty soft, but definitely needs a wash and condition to detangle the ends.

Factory Blythes

My verdict? I love them! I can certainly see why some people have been buying these factory dolls by the bucketload. I think I will probably order another one or two from Taobao soon, seeing as my platinum haired lady was out of stock and my account has been credited with a refund. Perhaps another blue girl? Or pink? Definitely another fantasy hair colour!

I know, right? I love the thought that they weren’t perfect enough to be sold as legit Blythe dolls… like maybe I’ve saved them from the bin or something? ๐Ÿ™‚

I’d love to buy a factory girl!! I fell in love with one in ebay but misteriously there’s someone that keeps on bidding on the factory girls and rising it’s price up to $200 – which is crazy.
I read that you need a taobao agent as an intermediary and they charge you a 10%, do you recommend yours? Could you give me his name or link? Thanks!!

$200 is nuts! They are nowhere near that price direct. I used http://www.c2345.com – and I absolutely would recommend them. Their charges are added on to the price you see on the site, and it’s pretty reasonable. They were quick and good at communicating, and refunded me really quickly when one of the dolls wasn’t in stock with one of the sellers.

I think Im going to try the agent you used ๐Ÿ™‚ I saw some beautiful factories all around 76$
May I ask you how much did you spent on your 2 pretty dolls, shipping included?

Erm, I’m not 100% sure how it all totals up as my boyfriend and I ordered a couple of other non-dolly things when I placed the order. BUT they did overcharge me for shipping initially as it was estimated, and they refunded the extra straight away! Can’t say much fairer than that! I’d absolutely recommend them – good luck with your factory girls! :cheery:

Hi there Jess ๐Ÿ™‚ I love your new factory girls! I too have been coveting a blue-haired girl from TaoBao. I hope to get one soon. I bought a blonde factory girl through TaoBao Master (also a TaoBao agent). I had no problems at all with them and I highly recommend them to you or anyone else who is looking to buy from TaoBao. I have customized my little factory girl, but I loved her before I did that too – she’s gorgeous! I’m going to get a few more factories…I agree, definitely much cheaper than NRFB girls, that’s for sure! Love your blog and it’s so great to meet you ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. […] doll. She’s a factory Blythe doll from Taobao, and you can see what she used to look like at her arrival post.ย Inspired by her deep blue hair and rich eye chip colours (thanks to her B2 Holic eye mechanism!), […]
