Blythe On TV – Barclaycard Christmas Advert

November 12, 2012 10 Comments

Idly watching television tonight, and a familiar set of big eyes jumped out at me… I literally shrieked, and made poor Dan jump out of his skin!

Spotted - Blythe on TV! Barclaycard Christmas Advert

I snapped the quick picture with my phone, then dashed off to the internet to find the full video to share with you guys. Blythe appears at 0:34, for those of you who simply cannot wait that long to see her on the big screen!

I love how she looks so surprised! I think she’s a Petit de’jeuner Champs Elysees Blythe doll, based on her hair and her outfit. Super cute – she reminds me a little of my Maria, with her heavy bangs and her sweet outfit.

EDIT: And she’s at 1:12, thanks Julieanne. AND there’s a Simply Vanilla Blythe doll at 0:53, spotted by the lovely Pip. Blythe overload!

What do you think to the Barclaycard advert? Are you happy to see Blythe on television? I love that this has come only weeks after Blythe dolls and BlytheCon UK were featured in the Guardian – for me, I enjoy seeing Blythe in the spotlight. I still dream of the day when I can walk into a real, brick-and-mortar shop and buy a Blythe doll (at a reasonable price!) I can dream, right? :cheery:

How cute!! Thunder Egg in Manchester has a few Blythe dolls for sale downstair, but I’m not sure of the price (never liked to ask!)

They tend to be very overpriced in Thunder Egg, for what they are. I know a Blythe is only worth what someone is willing to pay for her, but Thunder Egg were taking the mick with some of their prices! And the staff were really rude when we asked if we could leave them some flyers for BlytheCon UK in Manchester. We thought it’d be a great opportunity to drive some business for them from our attendees, but they weren’t interested in having a stall, supporting our raffle or anything. I was really surprised (and saddened) by it!
