Second Susie Sad Eyes

November 11, 2012 Leave a Comment

The wait is over! My second Susie Sad Eyes arrived last week, and is settling in quite nicely.

The second Susie Sad Eyes has arrived. Susie Sisters

She came in a tatty red and white dress, with a ridiculous “Be my Valentine” sash stapled to it. Unlike Susie #1, she had both her white boots. Obviously she’s not quite as adventurous as her sister. Perhaps that’s why she’s much paler too? Less chance to develop the healthy tan of Susie #1.

I gave her a quick bath, but she was pretty clean already. Her hair is quite a bit softer than Susie#1’s, and her body is a lot stiffer. I’m guessing she didn’t get played with as much? That’s one of the things I love about vintage dolls – wondering what adventures they had before they came to me. I’m exactly the same with my Kenner Blythe, Pip, but I’m lucky enough to know a bit about her origins. The Susies however, will remain mysteries…
